Murray Palmer

Director

For the last 30 years, Murray has been providing research, education, planning, advisory and advocacy services for our communities in the field of natural resource management. Tertiary qualifications include a BA (Philosophy and Environmental Science), PGradDip (Resource and Environmental Planning) and he is completing a PGradDip in Maori Resource and Environmental Management. Murray is a Train the Trainer with the international earth science program GLOBE, and a Resource Management Act hearings commissioner. Murray also has a background in the construction and land based industries. 

 

Amy-Rose Hardy

Project Manager 

Amy has just completed a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration with a double major in marketing and management. She has a background in business but holds a strong passion for working alongside children. Amy has been working for Nga Mahi Te Taiao part time since 2012 and has now started working full time as manager of the education prgorammes. 

This work enables Amy to grow her passion and commitment for educating children and the wider community about environmental conservation and engaging individuals towards sustainable development. 

 

Joe Palmer

 Regional Coordinator  

Joe has been the Experiencing Marine Reserves Te Tairawhiti, He Tai Ora The Living Sea Project coordinator in Te Tairawhiti since 2006.  He is a qualified Pilates instructor and an experienced and passionate surfer and diver.
